Definition. The mean value of a transfer to exchange addresses. Mean Transfer Volume from Exchanges is the outflow counterpart, and Total Transfer Volume to Exchanges is the total counterpart.

Technical. The mean is the deposited volume divided by the number of deposits. Both include transfers from other exchanges and exclude transfers within the same exchange. For ETH tokens, this mean includes transfers between exchanges and thus the values differ from the ratio of Total Transfer Volume to Exchanges and Number of Transfers to Exchanges, where such transfers are excluded. Exchange metrics are based on Glassnode's continually updated set of labeled exchange addresses, together with statistical and data-science methods that are refined over time. The series is therefore mutable: its established history is stable, but recent data points may revise as labels update.
