Definition. Coin Days Destroyed (CDD) measures the volume-weighted age of coins spent on a given day. Entity-Adjusted CDD is the entity-adjusted counterpart, and Supply-Adjusted CDD is a related, normalized metric.

Technical. For BTC, CDD is calculated by taking the number of spent coins in a transaction and multiplying it by the number of days since those coins were last spent. Further, for BTC, coins returned to the sending address within the same transaction are not counted as spent. For all other assets, coins spent are the net decrease of each address's balance, and coin age is the time since the address's balance-weighted average acquisition time. For ETH tokens, burn addresses are excluded.
