Definition. The total amount of all coins ever created or issued, i.e. the circulating supply. Adjusted Circulating Supply is a related variant with an estimate of lost coins removed.

Technical. For BTC, the metric is computed by summing the values of all unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs), including non-standard outputs. For ETH, supply is derived from issuance (genesis allocation, PoW block and uncle rewards, and a formula estimate of beacon-chain issuance) minus EIP-1559 burned fees, not from address balances. For USDS, supply is the sum of all address balances with burn addresses excluded, so tokens sent to burn addresses are removed from supply. For other assets, the circulating supply across all blockchains the asset is issued on is used, and amounts not considered circulating, such as locked or treasury holdings, are excluded. What counts as circulating is not standardized, so other sources can show a different figure.
