The Volume Price Trend (VPT) indicator combines price and volume to determine the strength of price trends and identify potential reversals. It calculates a cumulative total by adding or subtracting a portion of volume based on the percentage price change from the previous period. Unlike OBV which uses absolute volume changes, VPT weights volume by the magnitude of price movement, making it more sensitive to the degree of price changes.

This metric tracks VPT for spot trades aggregated across exchanges, where USD or USD-related currencies serve as the quote.
