Chart description

The Accumulation/Distribution Line (ADL) is a cumulative indicator that uses volume and price to assess whether an asset is being accumulated (bought) or distributed (sold). It measures the money flow volume based on the relationship between closing price and the day's price range. When price closes in the upper portion of the range, it indicates accumulation; when it closes in the lower portion, it signals distribution.

This metric tracks ADL for spot trades where USD or USD-related currencies serve as the quote, and can be viewed per exchange or aggregated across exchanges.

This is the Point-in-Time (PiT) variant of Spot Accumulation/Distribution Line (ADL). PiT metrics are strictly append-only and their history is immutable. The historic data does not necessarily reflect the best current knowledge, but the information at the time when a data point was first computed. PiT metrics are ideal candidates for applications in model backtesting and related quantitative purposes. Read our article on PiT metrics for more information.
