Definition. Invested Capital in Profit is the portion of Realized Cap (invested capital) held in profit, i.e. the total acquisition cost in USD of all holdings whose cost basis is below the current price. The counterpart to this metric is Invested Capital in Loss.

Technical. The metric uses an address-based approach: holdings are classified as in profit or loss by comparing each address's average acquisition price to spot, analyzed at the wallet-address level for consistency across digital assets and blockchain architectures. This contrasts with a UTXO-based approach for chains like Bitcoin, so results may differ slightly from UTXO-based profit/loss metrics.
